HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO:
GEORGE & APRIL ADAMS
Simply Committed!
April 5 Simply Committed! 1 Corinthians 1:27
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.” (1 Corinthians 1:27)
As far back as I can remember, I was taught that a “Man” was strong and determined and dependable and hardworking and was to face each challenge with confidence. Now, this was not a “Superman” type of expectation; it was a realistic definition of what a man is supposed to be. Daddy used to tell me that being a “Man,” required the “Steel & Velvet” approach. To be Hard as Nails, when necessary and as soft as velvet when you can. As I reflect on the application of this expectation for my Christian walk, I recognize that this old world doesn’t need some “Super Charged Fixer of Problems; it needs a committed, God-Centered Believer who will live their life on their knees, in complete and total submission to Almighty God! I pray that this sinful world can see my commitment, my actions, my words, and that they are, and will always be a reflection, of His Grace and my Commitment to Him. How about you? Folks, Be Intentional in your Living for Christ! Let your life show, to the entire world, your commitment and your dedication and your willingness to be used by God to promote His Mission and Purpose! May we live our lives in total dependence on God, His Grace, through Jesus and our commitment to serve Him with gladness! Simply put, He said that; “He chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong!” I am excited that He is my Rock and my Shield and that He is taking my weaknesses and making them strong! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

“Anchor Deep”
April 4 “Anchor Deep” Hebrews 6:19
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain…” (Hebrews 6:19)
Life in 21st century America is interesting. The population is demonstrating a lack of moral standards and those things that have been “wrong” for centuries, are now being deemed appropriate! Just yesterday, in a conversation with a young couple, they were professing their disdain for individuals that would share their beliefs with others. I pointed out that that was the standard for sharing information, whether we agree with it or not! Amazingly, the conversation turned to me, and my profession (calling). The young lady boldly stated that I was a part of the problem in our land! She continued to let me know that I needed to be more tolerant of others and their views, even though I might disagree! Wow! Really? My response was direct yet attempting to be “loving!” I said, “Why is it that the opinions that you declare are to be accepted, without question, yet the good news that I share is viewed as “hate speech” and is in direct conflict with the idea of being able to share your thoughts without question or criticism?” She was unable to articulate a response and she immediately instructed her partner to leave this man alone! Again, Wow! Folks, as believers, we are going to encounter those that believe that their “unholy” and “sinful” ways are the standard and that, if you question their ways and words, you are, either intolerant or discriminatory! Praise God! He told us in His word that the world would hate us and would resist us and that we are to continue to boldly proclaim the Good News, regardless of the situations or conditions that exist! It reminds me of the words of my daddy, when I would face challenges, as a young man. Daddy would remind me that my Hope comes from God and that I was to “Anchor Deep” in His Promises and His Love and His Provisions! Fellow Believer, we are in for a challenge as we live and share Jesus! We must recognize that our HOPE is in Him and that we Must Anchor Deep, in order to survive, and to thrive! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE! (Re-Posting)
BIRTHDAYS FOR APRIL 3, 2024
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO:
JOSHUA HUNTER
Genuine & Authentic
April 3 Genuine & Authentic 1 Corinthians 11:1
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.” (1 Corinthians 11:1)
We are living in a world of phonies, hucksters, imitators, and fakes. Think about it… Furniture that looks like wood but is something else, nails that are fake, eyelashes that are not real, knock-off merchandise that “looks” like the real thing but is not the same! So many years ago, my dear daddy taught me to spend a little more and get the real thing! We are informed, from the scriptures, that wolves will be moving about in sheep’s clothing and that there will be “Tares” among the “Wheat,” and that we must be prepared to deal with the “Fakes” of this world! As a Born-Again Believer, it is my basic task to imitate Christ in a genuine and real manner, in character, in attitude and in my very basic behaviors! Guess What? When I continue to imitate Jesus, growing every day in His Grace and Mercies, I continue to develop into the person that God expects, and I am continuing to Honor Him and to Reflect His Love and His Divine Nature to this Lost and Dying World! Be Real! Be Genuine! Be About the Father’s Business! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…. THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Justification by FAITH
April 2 Justification by FAITH Romans 3:28
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.” (Romans 3:28)
Let us go back to days of Job, and as we observe the situation unfolding, we hear this man, Job, ask a question. He asked, “How then can man be righteous before God?” Fast forward to the time of Paul. The Apostle Paul makes very clear, the answer to this question. The answer is FAITH!! Folks, without FAITH, Salvation is IMPOSSIBLE! You can be the best person alive and can-do amazing acts of kindness and you can bless others, yet without FAITH and a Redeeming Relationship with Jesus Christ, it will profit nothing, eternally! Paul makes it crystal clear that “good works, good intentions, religious rituals, religious processes, or anything else that we can think up, will not and cannot, provide the cleansing needed for Salvation! IT IS THROUGH THE ATONING BLOOD OF JESUS, AND THE LOVING ACT AT CALVARY THAT PROVIDES THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE SAVED! WHEN WE BELIEVE IN JESUS, AND, BY FAITH, ASK HIM TO CLEANSE US, FORGIVE US, AND TO SAVE OUR IMPORTAL SOULS, THEN WE COME INTO A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE FATHER, THROUGH THE SON! HE LOVED US ENOUGH TO SEND JESUS TO BE THE ONE, TRUE, AND FINAL BLOOD SACRIFICE FOR THE REMISSION OF OUR SINS! Praise God! SALVATION IS NOT BY ANYTHING THAT I DO, IT IS BY GOD’S MERCY! IT IS NOT BECAUSE OF MY GOODNESS; IT IS THE GRACE OF GOD. BECAUSE OF HIS LOVE, AND BECAUSE OF HIS SELFLESS ACT AT CALVARY, AND WHEN I BELIEVE AND HAVE FAITH IN THIS MAN CALLED JESUS, I AM JUSTIFIED BEFORE GOD, THE FATHER! THAT IS JUSTIFICATION, AND THIS EASTER SEASON (AND EVERYDAY) I AM EXCITED TO BE A PART OF THE FAMILY OF GOD AND ENJOYING HIS GRACE AND MERCY AND HIS POWER TO LIVE THIS LIFE, ABUNDANTLY! IT IS BECAUSE OF HIS LOVE, AND IT IS BECAUSE OF FAITH, THAT I CAN BE ASSURED OF MY PLACE IN ETERNITY! (The words are in caps because I am preaching) TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
